The Labrador Aboriginal Training Partnership (LATP) would like to congratulate the 13 students from Sheshatshiu who successfully completed the firefighter program, which began June 2010. These graduates have successfully completed this training in two parts, a portion of this course was completed at the Safety and Emergency Response Training Centre (SERT) at the Marine Institute in Stephenville, Newfoundland, and the remainder was held in their home community of Sheshatshiu. The high quality training concluded October 23, 2010 and the successful completion of this course has provided the students with a certified qualifications recognized worldwide in the field of firefighting.
